CSD Video Relay Service has made the process of an international adoption of our deaf baby girl possible and convenient.
We shared both of our CSDVRS Numbers that were assigned to our videophones at home and at work to the adoption agency in Denver without
any instruction. The international coordinator was able to call me many times, even at work or in the evenings, when time was of essence
to process our adoption paperwork. If my husband or I wasn’t there to answer the videophone, we were able to get a detailed
message through VRS Video Mail. There were so many forms that asked for our phone numbers with limited space.
Having our personal VRS number made it very easy for the adoption agency or other relevant agencies to call me or my husband. I was able to have many
phone calls in sign language with the confidence that I was getting all of the important information needed to complete my adoption.
If I had to communicate through text, it would have been a much longer and difficult process.
My husband and I are all set to fly to Kyrgyzstan to pick up our deaf daughter. We are indebted to CSDVRS.
